When was the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana first launched?
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation has launched the scheme of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the year 2015 to fulfill the dream of building a house for those living below the poverty line who do not even have a house to live in.
A total of 2.28 crore houses have been sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and out of these 1.78 crore houses have been constructed under the scheme. The government has planned to increase its expenditure for the housing construction scheme in this budget meeting.

How much money will be given to a candidate under the scheme
The loan amount offered to applicants depends on their annual income, candidates whose annual income is up to 3-6 lakhs can get a loan of 6 lakhs, while those whose annual income is more than 6-12 lakhs can get 12 lakhs. Can get a loan of lakhs, whose annual income is 12-18 lakhs, can get a loan of up to 12 lakhs respectively.
But each category has to get subsidy of different amount under the scheme which is different on the basis of annual income.
